SPRING DEVELOPMENT


Spring Development is a great opportunity for players to continue developing their soccer skills under a more casual environment. It is all about fun, staying fit and developing the skills and knowledge of the participants - coaches, referees and players alike.

CO-ED 

Please take note that while the region will attempt to form separate boys and girls teams, this will be solely based on the number of registrants and the possibility to form such separate teams. If there are not enough registrations per each division in order to form an adequate number of separate teams, the region will form smaller teams for short-sided games (I.e. 5v5, 7v7, 9v9) or form Coed teams (mixed teams boys and girls).

PLAYTIME

The Spring Development season at AYSO Region 165 is meant to encourage the growth and development of players and teams. AYSO Region 165 expands upon one of AYSO's six philosophies - Everyone Plays, during the Spring Development season by requiring that coaches ensure that no single player plays all four quarters of a game until all other players have played a minimum of three quarters. Additionally, players that sit more than one quarter in a game, cannot sit more than one quarter the following game.

This rule is intended to provide each and every player on a Spring Development team as much playtime as possible. This affords every player an opportunity to enjoy and learn the sport of soccer during the spring development season.
