With San Bernardino approaching the Orange Tier, we are finally back to a point where soccer can exist in our community. Your AYSO Region 165 Board members have put together a Return to Play plan to make sure that we are creating a safe environment for our community.
First and foremost, we are following our local public health guidelines as safety for our kids is the top priority. Our return to play plan, along with our Covid-19 guidelines are subject to change as our public health requirements adapt to the Covid-19 pandemic. AYSO has provided a lot of guidance in creating our region’s return to play plan so many of their recommendations are the other source we used in developing our 2021 programs.
We will finish up our AYSO MY2020 year with a Spring Development program that is open for ages 4-16 that starts on May 8th and runs through June 26th. This development program is Saturdays only with half of the time spent of skill development and the other half putting their new skills to use in competitive play. We will also offer a mid-week session for 12U and up that will be an indoor Futsal style of play for some advanced development and fun!
This Fall, we will start the AYSO MY2021 year off with a full season that ends in local playoffs only to keep our kids safe. We expect guidelines to change by August when this program kicks off so we will adjust plans for a 10-week, competitive team-based soccer season as we are able to.
In conclusion, the safety of our kids is what matters first and if we all pull together, we can create a safe environment for them to return to play soccer. We will need volunteers, especially coaches and referees, so please do whatever you can to help. Please visit our website or check your inboxes for updates and reach out to [email protected] if you have any questions.
We look forward to seeing everyone back out on the field for Soccer Saturdays in the Mountains!
